Bilbo
Bilbo another Essex fox cub from Goodmayes found himself trapped for two days between a house and fence, once in between he couldn’t get out. In his struggle he damaged his leg. Twinkle & Star

On 17th March 2008 three new born cubs were rescued from the remains of a burnt down scout hut in Chingford, Essex, and were taken into Forest Veterinary Centre, Woodford Bridge in Essex. They were wet, cold and having fits due to low blood glucose as they had not fed from the vixen. A few days later blisters from the heat appeared on their foot pads and noses.
The veterinary surgeon on duty, Samantha Bloomfield, administered emergency treatment and took them home to be fed by gastric tube and warmed slowly in incubators normally used for premature puppies and kitten’s.
The cubs progresses well, apart from one which was put to sleep at 10 days old. The other two remaining cubs were jointly reared by Samantha and her mother whilst Samantha was away on various veterinary courses.
At 16 days old they were introduced to solid food along with their milk. Not keen at first for the meat they quickly got the idea! As soon as the weather warmed up they started to
Take up residence in the garden for periods during the day to acclimatise them to the outside world.
By 28 days old they were fully weaned and ready to be passed on to NFWS for rehab back to the wild
Before Deb collected the two cubs from Samantha, Star attacked Twinkle, so bad Samantha had to stitch her up. From then on whenever they seen each other they would fight, so they were separated Whilst with Deb, the two remained separate. Once they came to us and then onto Diane they started screaming for company. Diane once again tried to reunite the siblings and thankfully after a lot of patience they are once again together and getting on fine. We will update their stories once we have integrated them with others.
